About The Position

The Forklift Operator performs warehouse and materials-handling duties, including operating forklifts and other hand or power trucks; transporting, receiving, staging, storing, stacking, shipping, and un-stacking palletized materials; unloading product from conveyors and trailers; and preparing stored material for shipment. The role also involves operating an RF gun, rearranging and inventorying materials, understanding inventory control paperwork, and completing computer transactions as required.

The operator is expected to report fit for duty, inspect personal protective equipment and safety equipment before use, document forklift inspections, promptly report injuries and incidents, participate in safety initiatives, and follow safe work practices and housekeeping instructions. The stated compensation is $21.38 per hour. Benefits may vary based on employment type, location, and applicable agreements.

Requirements

• Previous forklift driving experience.
• Ability to receive customer computer access.

Responsibilities

• Report to work fit for duty and ready to work.
• Inspect PPE and safety equipment before use and report equipment that is broken, worn, or not ready for use.
• Immediately report any injury or incident to a supervisor.
• Participate in safety initiatives, including observations, near misses, and safety committees.
• Operate a forklift and transport stock.
• Unload product from a conveyor.
• Operate an RF gun.
• Rearrange and inventory stored materials.
• Remove material from storage and prepare it for shipment.
• Operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
• Understand inventory control paperwork.
• Dispose of non-recyclable condemned product in dumpsters.
• Load and unload trailers as required.
• Receive, stage, store, stack, ship, and un-stack palletized materials.
• Conduct and document forklift inspection checklists.
• Perform PC transactions as required.
• Follow safe practice rules, including housekeeping, and instructions for efficient work performance.
