About The Position

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a 1st Shift Forklift Operator at our Fogelsville, PA manufacturing plant. This position will be responsible for safely and efficiently unloading/loading trucks and performing a final quality check on finished product and loading it onto a trailer per customer. Additional responsibilities of the Forklift Operator will include loading trucks in the proper sequence, checking loading tickets, and locking out trailers before loading and unlocking them once loading is complete. The role also involves using a forklift to load trailers as needed, recording and tracking information in the inventory control system, verifying trucks have been loaded properly, and moving stock in the loading area as necessary. The operator will also inspect trailers for damage, run manifest and bills of lading, and handle finished bedding goods up to 75 lbs. Other duties include locking out and chocking wheels, and using computers to scan rolls. The ability to read and interpret a tape measure is also required.

Requirements

Must be forklift certified
Prior experience driving a fork lift
Basic computer knowledge and the ability to use computerized equipment in daily operations
Basic reading, writing, and math skills
Ability to read and interpret a tape measure

Responsibilities
