About The Position

As a Forklift Operator, you are responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, load, and count merchandise. The operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle. The Receiving Forklift Operator will also unload cartons, raw materials, and seasonings from incoming trailers. They will also load necessary items for production to fulfil their schedules. This role requires a high-energy individual with a strong work ethic, who is self-motivated and able to work with limited to no supervision. The operator must be an independent decision maker, as needed, to accomplish tasks and possess strong organizational and prioritizing skills. Occasional weekend work may be required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Knowledge of BOLs and paperwork
  • Ability to work overtime, as needed

Responsibilities

  • Operate a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, load, and count merchandise.
  • Unload cartons, raw materials, and seasonings from incoming trailers.
  • Load necessary items for production to fulfill schedules.
  • Unload freight on and off pallets.
  • Inspect pallets for Vendor compliance, count, and damages.
  • Load pallets into trailers.
  • Supply packaging film, labels, and raw materials for production.
  • Maintain inventory and order material, as needed.
  • Wear seatbelt while on lift.
  • Inspect forklift before the start of each shift.
  • Perform housekeeping and sweeping of storage areas.
  • Perform weekend cleaning of packaging production areas, if applicable to your department.
  • Learn and operate a baler.
