About The Position

The 2nd Shift Freezer Forklift position involves supporting the movement and storage of materials within the distribution and freezer environments at the Darien, Wisconsin manufacturing facility. The role requires operating material handling equipment, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring safe and efficient operations. This is a key role in one of Conagra’s largest production sites.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Lift truck certification and experience operating material handling equipment
  • Experience operating powered and manual pallet jacks, clamp attachments, and pull pack attachments
  • Knowledge of battery room equipment and procedures
  • Understanding of trailer refrigeration unit operation
  • Basic math skills and accuracy in inventory tracking
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Knowledge of safety rules and commitment to following established procedures
  • Experience operating mobile and stationary computer equipment for inventory management

Responsibilities

  • Operate lift trucks and other material handling equipment to move product in and out of freezer and distribution areas.
  • Load and unload trucks, containers, and rail cars while ensuring proper handling and placement of materials.
  • Fill customer orders and ensure accurate product staging, labeling, and inventory tracking.
  • Maintain inventory records using computer systems and manual processes.
  • Transport pallets, fiber, and other materials as needed to support operations.
  • Sort and handle empty pallets while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform daily operational maintenance and complete equipment checklists.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures when handling products and equipment.
  • Change batteries on material handling equipment and follow battery room procedures.
  • Participate in training and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
