About The Position

Ryder is seeking a full-time, permanent Forklift Operator for their Milton, Ontario location. This role operates on a weekend night shift, Friday to Sunday, from 7pm to 7am. The Forklift Operator will be responsible for performing various warehouse functions, including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting, all while adhering to performance measurement guidelines and safety protocols. The position offers a competitive wage of $24.13/hour plus a $2/hour shift premium and an excellent benefits package after 30 days, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as retirement benefits like a Defined Contribution Pension Plan (DCPP), Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), and Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP). Requirements

  • H.S. diploma/GED preferred
  • One (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred
  • Valid Forklift Operator's License certified
  • Safety Sensitive Non-Regulated Tech
  • May operate fork-lift equipment or other warehouse machinery
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to be a team player and able to work within a diverse work environment
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)

Responsibilities

  • Perform warehouse functions, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting.
  • Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
  • Responsible for the accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products and loading and unloading of trucks.
  • Responsible for dealing with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).
  • Provide technical and maintenance support for different aspects related to the automated packing system during the core shift hour of production.
  • Candidate must have basic level knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice requirements, if applicable to site.
  • Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
  • Some locations may require a Motor Vehicles Records (MVR) check as a part of the background screening process to drive a company vehicle as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
