About The Position

This role involves operating powered industrial trucks to manage materials within the plant, including loading, unloading, and moving goods to various areas. The position also includes tasks such as sorting, packing, wrapping, and labeling products, moving product to storage, and transporting reels. Ensuring product quality, maintaining a clean work area, observing safety rules, and performing daily forklift checks are also key aspects of the role. Additionally, the operator will handle tasks related to propane and electric forklifts, moving scrap boxes, managing trash, and performing loading/unloading activities on tractor trailers. Requirements

  • Remove and replace batteries on electric powered lifts

Responsibilities

  • Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and to move them to various areas of the plant.
  • Move goods packed on pallets or in crates around the facility and to the wrapper when the product is considered a finished good.
  • Sort, pack, wrap, tie and label products as per company procedures.
  • Move product to storage locations as required.
  • Move reels full and empty to and from machines located throughout the facility.
  • Ensure inbound products and outbound products are free from damage and report any quality issues identified.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and observe all company and safety rules.
  • Perform daily forklift checks prior to starting the shift each day.
  • Fill and replace LP containers on propane powered lifts.
  • Remove and replace batteries on electric powered lifts.
  • Move scrap boxes as required.
  • Remove trash and garbage as required and place in compactor.
  • Perform unloading and loading activities on tractor trailers as required.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
