About The Position

XPO is hiring a Forklift Operator to sort, handle, load and unload freight in a dock environment. The role uses motorized and manual equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, as well as mobile handheld devices to scan and track shipments. Operators secure freight in trailers and follow company safety policies while working efficiently. The dock is not climate-controlled, and the position may involve extended periods in that environment. The role requires lifting freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights, frequently up to 50 pounds and occasionally more than 70 pounds. It also requires extended periods of walking and standing, along with reaching, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, twisting, squatting and kneeling. Experienced forklift operators can start at $28.10 per hour. Full health insurance benefits are available on day one. This is a Motor Carrier Act Exempt position. Applicants who receive a conditional offer may be required to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Be able to perform basic math calculations, with and without a calculator.
Be available to work a variety of shifts based on changing freight volumes, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights, frequently up to 50 pounds and occasionally more than 70 pounds.
Safely walk and stand for extended periods on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery.
Reach, including above the head; bend; climb; push; pull; twist; squat; and kneel as necessary.

Nice To Haves

Dock or warehouse experience in the transportation industry.
Forklift experience in a freight or less-than-truckload (LTL) environment.
Experience loading and unloading trailers.
Strong attention to detail and a desire to succeed.
