About The Position

Ryder is hiring a permanent, full-time Warehouse Associate in Apopka, Florida. The role supports warehouse distribution and fulfillment, handling consumer packaged goods in a safety-focused facility with state-of-the-art equipment. The schedule is Wednesday through Saturday, 5:30 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. Pay is $18.00 per hour, with a $1.00-per-hour shift premium, and employees are paid weekly. Equipment includes a Crown stand-up forklift, slip sheet, and RF scanner. Paid on-the-job training and safety gear are provided. The position may require additional screening, such as employment and education verification, a motor vehicle records check and road test, or customer-specific badging or background requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months of related warehouse experience required.
• One year or more of related warehouse experience preferred.
• Intermediate ability to operate powered industrial trucks, such as stand-up and sit-down forklifts, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks; includes operating and maintaining equipment, changing batteries, and recognizing common mechanical issues.
• Powered industrial truck certification.
• Ability to read and perform basic mathematics in English for safety, work instructions, and policies.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to input data into the WMS computer systems in use.
• Ability to work overtime as assigned.
• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships at all organizational levels, including peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility and self-direction to excel in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to multitask, with strong organization and time-management skills.
• Detail-oriented, with excellent follow-up practices.

Nice To Haves

• One year or more of related warehouse experience.
• Intermediate ability to operate manual and/or automated warehouse or manufacturing equipment, such as a packaging line.

Responsibilities

• Package, kit, and/or assemble orders and materials.
• Load and unload inbound and outbound trailers.
• Ensure all scanning is completed correctly.
• Help train dock employees on new procedures.
• Ensure the facility is secure at the end of the shift; investigate and resolve scanning issues and housekeeping concerns.
• Perform picking and packing duties.
• Check for evidence of product or container damage.
• Perform assigned tasks according to location policies and procedures, including handling materials within associated logical transactions.
• Perform material moves with associated physical and logical transactions as required.
• Participate in workgroup and other team activities to support self-improvement and improve warehouse operations and related business functions.
• Perform housekeeping duties for the assigned area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
