About The Position

Palmer Logistics, now part of H. Essers, is seeking skilled Forklift Operators to join their team. H. Forklift Operators are responsible for receiving, shipping, and quality control of various customer products, including non-hazardous and hazardous materials, food grade items, and other commodities. The role requires safety-consciousness, attention to detail, proficiency in operating different equipment in a fast-paced environment, and implementing best practices to support growth.

Requirements

  • Must have 2 -3 years of forklift experience in a logistics environment.
  • Flexible work schedule: must be able to come in early, stay late, and/or work weekends depending on operational needs.
  • Must be able to work in a congested area(s) and non-climate-controlled warehouse.
  • Must have 2 -3 years in handling hazardous material
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs, adjust the body to bend, push, pull, stretch, stoop, squat, and grab; walk and sit for extended periods.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of performing basic math functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, move, and stage product by operating various equipment such as sit-down forklift, reach truck, cherry picker.
  • Pull and prepare product for shipping including but not limited to labeling, banding, stretch wrapping, block and brace.
  • Verify shipments for accuracy, document and report any discrepancies.
  • Utilize RF scanner.
  • Follow established company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and office personnel to meet productivity goals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections prior to operation.
  • Perform other duties and not limited to just driving a forklift, you will label, band, stretch wrap, clean drums and totes, and restack bags and pails.
