About The Position

At Imperial, a Forklift Operator drives stand-up, battery-powered forklift equipment to load or unload pallets into designated warehouse areas. The role uses equipment such as a cherry picker, reach truck, or transporter to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, and move products or pallets. After receiving and processing, products are placed in the Bulk area or Pick Mod. Operators accurately transfer products to help meet customer demand.

The schedule is four days per week, including Saturday, from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Imperial is a supermarket non-foods distribution and merchandising company serving regional and independent grocery retailers with health, beauty, wellness, general merchandise, and seasonal products.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to use a login and password and follow simple instructions.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small-group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with tens and hundreds.
• Ability to perform arithmetic using American units of money, weight, volume, and distance.

Nice To Haves

• Previous related experience or training; one to three months, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive a forklift, reach truck, cherry picker, or transporter.
• Pick, refill, and put away received products.
• Perform detailed checks against documents.
• Use an RF scanner and Lydia headset.
• Notify a supervisor of equipment malfunctions.
• Configure pallets.
• Maintain the general bulk area.
• Meet productivity and accuracy standards.
• Keep the work area clean.
• Follow all module safety training and requirements.
• Possibly work as a floater at other Imperial warehouses.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
