About The Position
Established in 1987, Triad Metals International is a privately held, independent company that has grown to become one of the premier distributors of structural steel, tubing, piling, and plate products. We are looking to hire a Forklift Operator to join our team in Petersburg, Virginia!
Requirements
- Proven experience as a forklift operator
- Ability to operate both large and medium sized sit-down fork trucks with large loads.
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic mathematical skills
- Knowledge of industrial equipment
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Forklift Certification will be provided by trainer and is required of all warehouse employees
Responsibilities
- Load and unload, inbound and outbound goods
- Transport goods within the facility
- Load/unload material from flatbed trucks.
- Maintaining correct locations for materials.
- Performing regular operator machine maintenance on forklifts.
- Optimize travel throughout the warehouse and yard to ensure operational efficiency
- Inspect material handling equipment for damage and schedule maintenance or repairs
- Manage inventory, keeping accurate data collection to ensure inventory integrity
- Adhere to safety standards, maintaining a safe, orderly, and clean environment
- Perform basic housekeeping to ensure all work areas are free of debris
- Follow procedures for reporting overages, shortages, and damages
- Perform other duties as needed.
