About The Position

Under the responsibility of the Logistics Supervisor, the Material Handler I performs warehouse functions, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting. This is a full-time, permanent position with a wage of $24.13 per hour plus a $1.00 night shift differential. The shifts are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 PM to 6:00 AM, located in Milton. Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED preferred.
  • One (1) year or more of related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
  • Valid Forklift Operator's License certified.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to be a team player and work within a diverse work environment.
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization.
  • Must be punctual and have a good attendance record.
  • Performs work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Possesses a high degree of initiative.
  • Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure.
  • Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work using health and safety methods.
  • Must be available to work on a flexible schedule on various work shifts.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
  • Basic level knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice requirements, if applicable to site.
  • Some locations may require a Motor Vehicles Records (MVR) check as part of the background screening process to drive a company vehicle as needed.
  • Must have valid legal authorization to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Perform warehouse functions, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting.
  • Perform duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
  • Accurately pick and pack products, audit, perform tote induction, stage products, and load and unload trucks.
  • Handle day-to-day paperwork in a warehouse environment (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
  • Provide technical and maintenance support for the automated packing system during core production hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
