Forklift operators move our product—whether loading or unloading it for transportation, wrapping it for shipment, or moving it around the facility. They must be safety-minded and pay close attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate a forklift and perform required daily inspection
  • Read and understand Bills of Lading and pick sheets
  • Load and unload products to/from semi-trucks
  • Filling out scale tickets, ensuring that load and ticket match
  • Ensure that the correct trailer is in the door for the scheduled load
  • Ensure tags match the paperwork and product listed
  • Arrange the warehouse by moving products to make room for incoming loads
  • Enruring the number of totes unloaded matches the recorded amount
  • Printing required to pick tickers and assign orders to be pulled for shipment; ensure correct loading of trucks through proper weight distribution
  • Check product to be shipped for accuracy per customer orders
  • Maintain clean and organized isles and rack storage, consolidate partial pallets when needed
  • Coordinate with the Shipping Supervisor regarding product rotation and space allocation. Ensure first in, first out (FIFO) stock rotation is followed
  • Performing periodic quality control checks to ensure the product is staged and shipped according to customer requirements
  • Communicate with management and maintenance personnel on a timely basis to facilitate maintenance and repairs.
  • Comply with company safety policies and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures, including timely and accurate documentation of required SQF forms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Shipping Supervisor, Lead, or Plant Manager.
