Forklift Operator
About The Position
We are looking to welcome an energetic self-starter, mechanically inclined and detail-oriented Forklift Driver to join our Edmonton Shipping Team. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a team-oriented environment and embraces our Continuous Improvement working culture. We are hiring at our Edmonton location at 5219 47 St NW on the morning shift (Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM). Requirements
- Current forklift certificate class 1, 4, 5 required
- 3-5 years of forklift experience required
- Effective communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work well with people in a team environment
- Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, as this position requires lifting, bending, and moderate physical exertion
- Ability to multi-task
- A positive ‘can do’ attitude
Nice To Haves
- Certification with high-reach forklift is considered an asset
- Intermediate first aid is an asset
Responsibilities
- Pick and stage orders in the warehouse
- Load and unload trucks
- Operate an electric sit-down counterbalance safely and efficiently
- Use barcode system to locate product in the warehouse
- Unload production lines and put away product in the warehouse as required
- Ensure all equipment is operating properly and inform appropriate personnel of any problems
- Count inventory as required
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating a forklift
- Comfortable working outside from time to time sorting pallets and bringing pallets to production
- Other general warehouse duties as required
