About The Position

This role is responsible for operating a forklift in a plant warehouse setting, adhering to all safety and housekeeping requirements. The operator will be involved in the timely loading and unloading of finished products and raw materials, interpreting customer orders, and recording shipping data. The position also requires basic maintenance skills for equipment servicing and active participation in plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives. Adaptability to scheduling requirements, including shiftwork and overtime, is expected.

Requirements

Able to safely operate a forklift in a manufacturing/warehouse setting.
Ability to inspect and troubleshoot the forklift to detect issues and maximize operational availability.
Ability to interpret verbal instructions and written documents such as customer orders.
Ability to apply basic computer skills required for data entry and reporting.
Proficiency at accurately recording shipping data.
Possess basic maintenance skills needed to help service equipment.
Effective teamwork and communication skills needed with all co-workers.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

Adhere to all safety/housekeeping requirements within a plant warehouse setting.
Responsible for safe use of forklift in the timely loading or unloading of finished product and raw materials to/from trucks, and from the production line.
Interpret customer orders so as to pull, stage, load, and check materials in a manner that ensures accurate and timely shipment.
Recording of shipping data and other results in the manner required.
Troubleshoot and apply basic maintenance skills to help service equipment.
Take an active role in all plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives as required by supervision.
Adaptable to scheduling requirements including shiftwork, assignment of overtime, working weekends, etc. where applicable.
