About The Position

Tradebe is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator for their East Chicago, IN facility, which is their largest processing hub focused on recycling and the circular economy. This hands-on role is crucial for safely receiving, staging, tracking, and processing hazardous waste materials, contributing to a safe and compliant operation within the environmental services industry.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience
Previous forklift operating experience
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check
Comfortable working in a physically active role involving standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and reaching
Ability to read, write, and understand English

Nice To Haves

Experience in the hazardous waste or environmental services industry
Knowledge of DOT or RCRA regulations

Responsibilities

Safely operate forklifts to unload incoming trailers and move materials throughout the facility
Verify incoming shipments and place materials in designated staging or storage areas
Follow DOT and facility segregation guidelines for hazardous waste handling
Complete inspections and compliance checks including drum integrity, aisle spacing, and labeling requirements
Perform daily forklift inspections and basic equipment maintenance such as cleaning and adding fluids
Track inventory movements and complete required paperwork including weight sheets, reports, and tracking logs
Assist with material preparation, processing operations, and drum sampling as needed
Other duties as assigned
