About The Position

The Forklift Operator plays a critical role in the efficient operation of our non-durable goods manufacturing facility by safely and accurately moving materials throughout the warehouse and production areas. This position ensures that raw materials, components, and finished products are transported, stored, and organized in a manner that supports seamless production flow and timely order fulfillment. The operator will be responsible for handling various types of forklifts and pallet jacks, including electric pallet jacks, stand-up forklifts, and clamp trucks, to accommodate different load types and warehouse configurations. Attention to safety protocols and equipment maintenance is paramount to prevent accidents and minimize downtime. Ultimately, the Forklift Operator contributes to maintaining an organized, productive, and safe warehouse environment that supports overall business objectives.

Requirements

  • Valid forklift operator certification or license in accordance with OSHA or relevant local regulations.
  • Proven experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse safety standards and material handling procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret inventory documentation and use RF scanning technology.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, standing, and maneuvering equipment for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating multiple types of forklifts, including stand-up forklifts and clamp trucks.
  • Familiarity with non-durable goods manufacturing processes and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Additional certifications related to warehouse safety or equipment operation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Basic mechanical skills for troubleshooting minor equipment issues.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, stand-up forklifts, and clamp trucks to move materials within the warehouse and production areas safely and efficiently.
  • Load, unload, and stack products and materials in designated storage locations, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
  • Use RF scanners and other warehouse technology to accurately track inventory movement and update records in real-time.
  • Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment to ensure operational safety and report any malfunctions or hazards immediately.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and production teams to prioritize order picking and material staging to meet production schedules and shipping deadlines.
