About The Position

As a Forklift Operator, your role is essential in ensuring the accurate and timely handling of goods within our facility. Your responsibilities include the receipt, labeling, and shipping of orders, all in accordance with client requirements and contracts. Additionally, you will assist with general tasks that contribute to the overall efficiency and coordination of our operations. Your commitment to precision and efficiency is crucial in maintaining our high standards of service and logistics excellence.

Requirements

Forklift Certified.
Strong working knowledge of warehouse operational procedures.
Effective communication skills, speaking, and active listening.
Exceptional time management and organizational skills, ability to prioritize projects and handle interruptions.
Strong sense of urgency.
In-depth understanding of company best practices.
Prior experience using warehouse management software (WMS) and other computer applications.
All candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience as a forklift operator, often 3-5 years.
Good attendance and punctuality: must show up on time and work scheduled shifts.
Must have the ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
Background Verification: Alta Warehousing & Logistics requires all applicants to undergo a background verification process prior to commencing employment with the company. Employment with Alta is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a pre-employment background check which includes drug screening.

Responsibilities

Load and unload tractor-trailer trucks using a forklift.
Move product and materials with forklift from/to designated locations.
Use wireless Bluetooth scanning equipment to ensure accuracy of inventory.
Adhere to all policies and procedures relating to shipping, receiving, and safety.
Responsible for meeting productivity requirements.
Perform miscellaneous activities as directed to support the efficient operation of the warehouse.
Adhere to quality and customer service standards set forth by the company.
Inspect forklifts and other material handling equipment prior to use.
Identify safety hazards in the workplace.
Inspect each pallet and or case for proper quantities, items brands, lot codes (as applicable), and damages and follow any special instructions and /or additional documentation.
Communicate problems, concerns and ideas to supervision and management.
Identify process improvements.
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
