About The Position

Lufkin Quad is seeking a part-time forklift operator. The role involves accurately identifying, moving, and processing various products and materials throughout the plant. This is accomplished through material handling, servicing of production machines and other manufacturing duties as needed, and requires use of various pieces of powered industrial equipment, desktop and mobile PC’s and scanning equipment.

Requirements

  • Use of various pieces of powered industrial equipment

  • Proper block brace
  • Understanding warehousing limitations and layouts, which include the HDSS system, and using conventional warehouse layout
  • Understanding outbound packaging and skid type
  • Identify what type of packaging is required: wood tops or Cardboard tops, corner protectors, type of wrap, and compression of wrap, and straps, and how many needed
  • Full grasp on all departmental smartools including but not limited to: RF Driver, Product Request, Inventory Maintenance, LB-2, P2B-2, and Freight Management Systems
  • Review RF program to make sure all skids are physical and ready to be loaded
  • Identify when skid/s will be physical
  • Loading correct trailer by matching it with what is showing in the RF driver application
  • Determine what type of product will be loaded
  • Determine how many floor spots on the trailer are needed
  • Distribute load evenly throughout the trailer
  • Knowledge to fix and maintain automated systems including Packaging/Auto-wrappers, HDSS, ASRS, VNA, AGV, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Correctly identify and/or deliver product properly and efficiently to machines, while understanding operations, job schedules, and instructions.
  • Load and unload product and materials from trucks and verify shipment counts, condition, and document shortages and damage.
  • Understand warehousing limitations and layouts, which include the HDSS system, and using conventional warehouse layout.
  • Understand outbound packaging and skid type; will handle WIP, Newsstand, Bulk, and Mail skids. Also must identify what type of packaging is required: wood tops or Cardboard tops, corner protectors, type of wrap, and compression of wrap, and straps, and how many needed.
  • Understand details of loading. Must have a full grasp on all departmental smartools including but not limited to: RF Driver, Product Request, Inventory Maintenance, LB-2, P2B-2, and Freight Management Systems.
