Forklift Operator - 12 hr. Days (6am-6:30pm)
About The Position
LiDestri Foods is seeking a Forklift Operator to ensure the proper receipt, shipment, storage, and delivery of finished or raw product. This role involves operating a forklift in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, utilizing RF scanner guns, and adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) protocols. Responsibilities include moving, locating, stacking, and counting inventory, unloading raw materials and finished products, and assisting with various warehouse operations such as receiving, depalletizing, kitchen deliveries, railcar operations, and shipping. The position requires working safely and reporting any food safety or quality issues. The role is a 12-hour day shift position, from 6 am to 6:30 pm.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience operating forklift in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to apply computer and communication skills and math functions
- Ability to use hand tools including RF scanner guns
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (bump cap, hair net, ear plugs, beard net (if applicable); Kevlar gloves, safety glasses and leather skid resistant work shoes/boots)
Responsibilities
- Utilize RF scanner guns
- Move, locate, relocate, stack and count inventory
- Follow GMP protocols
- Remove wrapped pallets from palletizer staging area and deliver to correct bay
- Unload raw materials from delivery truck and tankers
- Properly receive and deliver raw materials to proper bay
- Assist with ensuring proper materials are delivered to kitchen or depal area
- Unload glass from delivery truck
- Accurately and safely deliver pallets of empty containers to depal area
- Accurately and safely deliver correct raw materials to appropriate kitchen
- Load and unload rail cars
- Accurately receive any raw product in
- Relocate pallets throughout warehouse as needed
- Remove pallets of finished product from palletizer and delivery to appropriate bay for holding
- Stage and prep outgoing orders
- Load outgoing trucks and ensure product is not damaged prior to or during loading
- Load recycling trailers and dumpsters when needed
- Work in a safe manner, consistent with company safety rules and regulations
- Other duties as assigned by your manager as needed
- Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
