About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring all materials are transported and/or unloaded in a timely manner while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role involves operating powered pallet jacks, forklifts, and reach trucks, inspecting and maintaining equipment, and moving inventory in various storage areas including subzero freezers, coolers, and dry goods areas. The position also requires moving finished goods and work-in-progress, unloading trucks, covering and stretch-wrapping pallets, and ensuring production lines are supplied with necessary materials. Additionally, the role involves recording transactions in the SAP system, ensuring correct labeling of materials, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment according to 5S principles, GMPs, and USDA regulations.

  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Must have NO disciplinary actions in the past 12 months.
  • This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all materials are transported and/or unloaded in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to Tyson policies and procedures.
  • Operate powered pallet jack, forklift, and/or reach truck.
  • Inspect daily, charge batteries, maintain battery water level, and change batteries as necessary.
  • Work in areas and around raw materials, packaging, and pallets to the appropriate production areas.
  • Move inventory in an organized manner to store in a subzero freezer, cooler, and a dry goods area.
  • Move finished goods and work-in-progress from production lines to the shipping area.
  • Unload trucks.
  • Cover and stretch-wrap pallets.
  • Ensure assigned production lines are continuously supplied with clean raw materials and packaging.
  • Record movement transactions in the SAP system.
  • Ensure all raw materials and finished goods are labeled correctly.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work environment according to 5S principles, GMP’s, and USDA regulations.
  • Use handheld computer to pick and scan product to outbound loads.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members and assist in coordinating to accomplish all assigned tasks.
