About The Position

XPO is hiring a Forklift Operator to sort, handle, load and unload freight in a transportation dock environment. The position uses motorized and manual equipment and mobile handheld devices to move, secure, scan and track shipments while following company safety policies. Work takes place on a dock that is not climate-controlled, sometimes for extended periods. The role requires flexibility to work a variety of shifts based on freight volumes, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Be able to perform basic math calculations, with and without a calculator.
Be available to work a variety of shifts due to varying freight volumes, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights, frequently up to 50 pounds and occasionally more than 70 pounds.
Safely walk and stand for extended periods on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery.
Reach, including overhead; bend; climb; push; pull; twist; squat; and kneel as necessary.

Nice To Haves

Dock or warehouse experience in the transportation industry.
Forklift experience in a freight or less-than-truckload (LTL) environment.
Experience loading and unloading trailers.
Strong attention to detail and a desire to succeed.

Responsibilities

Efficiently sort, handle, load and unload palletized and non-palletized freight.
Use appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts.
Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies.
Work safely and efficiently while adhering to company safety policies.
Use mobile handheld devices to scan and track shipments.
