About The Position

XPO is hiring a Forklift Operator to sort, handle, load and unload palletized and non-palletized freight. The role uses motorized and manual equipment, including a pallet jack and forklift, and requires securing freight inside trailers, scanning and tracking shipments with mobile handheld devices, and following company safety policies. Work takes place on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery. The position is identified as Motor Carrier Act Exempt. Experienced forklift operators can start at $27.41 per hour. The listed shift is afternoon, though employees must be available for a variety of shifts due to changing freight volumes, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Be able to perform basic math calculations, with and without a calculator.
Be available to work a variety of shifts due to varying freight volumes, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights, frequently up to 50 pounds and occasionally more than 70 pounds.
Safely walk and stand for extended periods on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery.
Reach, including above the head; bend; climb; push; pull; twist; squat; and kneel as necessary.

Nice To Haves

Dock or warehouse experience in the transportation industry.
Forklift experience in a freight or less-than-truckload (LTL) environment.
Experience loading and unloading trailers.
Strong attention to detail and a desire to succeed.
