About The Position

As a Forklift Operator, you will assist in receiving product for the day's production, check environmental conditions of delivery trucks to ensure they are up to HF standards, and process BOLs (Bill of Lading) and POs. Forklift Operators pick product from inventory as needed, deliver items to the appropriate production area, and make adjustments in the computer. This position also prepares completed product for transport by outside carriers. Shifts are available from Thursday to Sunday, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, and Friday to Monday, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Requirements

• Able to work in a fast paced environment.
• Able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects and/or tools.
• Able to regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision.
• Able to communicate, both verbally and in writing in English, effectively and professionally with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Able to stand, walk, stoop, reach and lift for a minimum of 10 to 12 hours with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Able to work in a cold prep area kept at 35 degrees.
• Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
• Licensed forklift truck operator, preferable Crown or Raymond stand-up lift.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to count and have basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions).

Nice To Haves

• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Highschool diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Operate lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas in a safe and timely manner.
• Process received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.
• Ensure the accuracy, quality, and safety of received goods by following the company’s defined procedures to inspect both the truck and materials.
• Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Assist in the shipping and warehouse areas as needed.
• Report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
• Enforce and follow all safety, GMP and SQF policies/procedures.
• Ensure the accuracy, quality, and safety of received goods by following the company’s defined procedures to ensure FIFO protocols are followed.
• Ensure the proper stocking of all production materials needed for the production line on a daily basis.
• Shrink wrap pallets either manually or utilizing automation in preparation of shipment.
• Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
• Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
