About The Position

First Quality Home Care Products, LLC is seeking a Forklift Operator for their facility located in Salt Lake City, UT. This role is crucial for supporting manufacturing operations by managing the movement of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods. The position requires adherence to strict safety protocols, efficient operation of forklifts and other equipment, and participation in inventory management. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, possess strong communication and decision-making skills, and be able to perform physical tasks associated with the role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1-2 years of forklift experience.
  • Organizational ability and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work overtime (weekday and weekend) as required.
  • Ability to make decisions independently.
  • Ability to articulate and clearly convey information, directions, etc.
  • Good interpersonal and leadership skills and ability to interface with all departments.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write the English language.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to pass minimum required standard on all competency tests.
  • Operators of powered industrial trucks shall be physically qualified, including normal mobility and manual dexterity; normal visual capabilities, including depth perception and field of vision; and normal hearing ability.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to push/pull up to 100 lbs. of initial force and 60 lbs. of sustained force.
  • Must be able to work in indoor/outdoor environment.
  • Must be able to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to repetitively ascend and descend from powered industrial equipment (tugger, forklift, etc.) up to 225 times.
  • Must be able to bend, kneel, crouch and reach.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to all Safe Work Practices (SWP) and organizational policies and procedures, including all safety requirements.
  • Picks and stages raw materials for the manufacturing area.
  • Pulls and delivers materials to designated areas on the manufacturing floor.
  • Delivers and removes materials at reclaim areas (e.g., fluff bales).
  • Picks up and delivers packaging to manufacturing lines.
  • Participates in all physical inventories.
  • Pulls and stages corrugate boxes for manufacturing.
  • Uses the data collection system (scanners, computer, etc.).
  • Secures all trailers at the dock via procedures.
  • Loads/unloads trucks and trailers.
  • Takes scrap and trash to dumpster or baler area, as required.
  • Performs general housekeeping tasks to keep the warehouse in “tour ready” condition, including sweeping and picking up debris/trash.
  • Places rejected materials and finished product in designated locations.
  • Loads wooden pallets onto designated trailer, no less than 18 inches high.
  • Picks up and stages empty, wooden pallets from the manufacturing floor.
  • Assists in warehouse operations as needed and handles other duties as assigned (e.g., material handler).
  • Transports return to stock (RTS) items from manufacturing to the warehouse.
  • Completes daily pre-shift inspection of powered industrial equipment.
  • Works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Attends and participates in all training programs, meetings, etc.
  • Performs cycle counts as needed.
  • Stages finished product for loaders in designated locations.
  • Completes all applicable paperwork.
  • Unloads, checks, and counts incoming raw materials.
  • Places materials in designated areas within the warehouse.
  • Effectively communicates (orally and written) with associates and other departmental personnel.
