About The Position

The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently moving, loading, unloading and organizing materials within the manufacturing plant. This position operates in a chemical manufacturing environment and requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), hazardous material handling procedures, and company safety policies.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Previous Forklift experience
The ability to work rotating shifts
Ability to safely wear respiratory protective equipment for extended periods while performing assigned job duties
Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and respond to call-outs as required to support continuous manufacturing operations
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to perform basic math calculations and complete production records
Strong attention to detail and quality
Ability to work safely around chemicals and manufacturing equipment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, established procedures, work rules, and company standards
Must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including a physical examination, functional capacity assessment, and drug screening

Responsibilities

Supports daily operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment by ensuring the accurate and timely fulfillment of production orders, including the movement and storage of materials.
Inspect products and material components for quality, accuracy weight and defects before delivering raw material to production line.
Verify correct product and quantities that are used for each production run.
Coordinate with Press operator the handling and distribution of materials in each tableting run.
Pull production, participate in inventory counts and material reconciliation activities as assigned.
Complete production, quality, material weights, usage data, and inventory documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Perform Complete Daily Forklift Inspection Form.
Follow all safety procedures regarding hazardous chemicals, personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout, and emergency response
Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency
Performs other duties and assignments as directed by supervisor
Assist other Operators as needed
