DC Forklift Operator - Stocking 2pm Start
About The Position
Operate fork trucks in a safe, efficient, and effective manner while unloading trucks and moving freight within the DC. This role is responsible for moving incoming merchandise from truck to dock, and dock to correct stocking areas. The operator will also be responsible for stocking all rack merchandise, arranging rack surplus from zones, and setting down rack surplus for zones so orders can be filled and replenishments can be made to stocking locations. This position may also involve replenishing outbound totes, assisting with maintaining mezzanine zones, and performing any miscellaneous tasks that require a fork truck. Maintaining safety standards and identifying unsafe practices are crucial. Experienced team members may be designated as trainers, responsible for ensuring training is conducted on schedule and documentation is complete, explaining job duties and functions to new team members, and conveying departmental or procedural changes.
Requirements
- Must work well in a team environment
- Operating knowledge of fork trucks and power equipment
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Experience operating various types of power equipment
- Advanced knowledge of parts lines in warehouse and surplus merchandise locations
- Advanced computer skills
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
Responsibilities
- Moving incoming merchandise from truck to dock, and dock to correct stocking areas.
- Stocking all rack merchandise and arranging rack surplus from zones in the appropriate manner.
- Setting down rack surplus for zones so orders can be filled and replenishments can be made to stocking locations.
- Performing any miscellaneous tasks that require a fork truck.
- Replenishing outbound totes as needed, where applicable.
- Assisting with maintaining mezzanine zones.
- Maintaining safety standards while operating and identifying unsafe practices and situations.
- Acting as a trainer for new team members, ensuring training is conducted according to schedule and documentation is complete.
- Explaining specific job duties and functions to help ensure success of new team members, as well as to convey any departmental or procedural changes to existing team members.
