The Forklift Operator will load/unload or otherwise move inventory using heavy capacity for truck equipment according to work orders and by directive of a supervisor. This role involves medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The operator is responsible for lifting, moving, positioning, and repositioning steel and heavy material to stock areas, and loading/unloading trailers and/or railroad cars. The role requires the ability to drive and operate the fork truck in various conditions and spaces, log and report inventory changes, log and tag received inventory, assemble customer orders, and record material information. Accuracy, coordination with other warehouse areas and coworkers, and adherence to safety requirements are crucial. The position also requires initiative, a positive attitude, respect for workplace culture, and dependable attendance. Overtime and weekend work may be required, as well as performing other warehouse tasks or special projects as assigned.
