About The Position
Sparrow Company is searching for an experienced and safety-conscious Sit-Down Forklift Operator to join a growing team in Las Cruces, NM. This position is responsible for safely operating a sit-down forklift to move, load, unload, and organize materials while supporting daily warehouse and production operations.
Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating a sit-down forklift required
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends if needed
- Valid OSHA Forklift Certification required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical labor throughout the shift
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transportation required
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a sit-down forklift to load, unload, transport, and stack materials
- Move products and materials throughout the warehouse or production facility
- Load and unload trucks accurately and efficiently
- Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damage and accuracy
- Organize inventory and maintain designated storage locations
- Perform daily forklift inspections and report equipment issues or safety concerns
- Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist with inventory counts and general warehouse duties as needed
- Work closely with warehouse staff and supervisors to ensure efficient operations
- Perform other duties as assigned
