About The Position

Forte is seeking dedicated production workers/manufacturing workers who are committed to excellence in safety, quality, and customer service, and who can contribute to a positive and productive teamwork environment. This role involves operating a forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. You will drive around the plant floor and into storage areas to acquire material. The goal is to ensure that material and products are always at the right place to achieve maximum efficiency. This is a 2nd shift position, Monday-Thursday 3:25pm-1:55am, with potential overtime on Fridays.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as forklift operator.
  • Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment.
  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
  • Depth perception required.
  • Ability to climb on and off the lift.
  • Ability to work/maneuver at elevated heights up to 20 ft.
  • Ability to continuously experience jarring and driving over uneven pavement.
  • Ability to constantly get on/off lift truck to manually lift/slide/flip door skins (max. 50 lbs.), bending, lifting, and twisting.
  • Ability to pick up materials and dispose of them as necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid certification to operate forklift preferred.
  • One year experience in a manufacturing setting working in a similar role.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a forklift to lift/pull/push materials onto forks from elevated heights, navigating throughout the plant, including populated and small areas.
  • Perform safety procedures, including wearing and securing a harness.
  • Read and interpret schedules/tickets.
  • Use a measuring tape to the 16th.
  • Work/maneuver at elevated heights up to 20 ft.
  • Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
  • Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
  • Transport raw materials to production workstations.
  • Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance.
  • Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
  • Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facility.
  • Provide occasional help on the production floor operating machines as trained.
