Requirements

  • 3-6 months of forklift driving experience in a warehouse using reach truck/stand-up forklifts and Electric Pallet Jacks.
  • Good stable work record.
  • Ability to operate reach truck and/or Walkie Rider.
  • General understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Attention to detail and quality a must.
  • Good communication, clear and concise, problem resolution, and people skills.
  • Flexibility in working overtime when needed, and supplying coverage to other shifts.
  • Experience in building pallets with stock and breaking down stock to fill independent orders.
  • Experience in cross docking freight process.
  • Not afraid of heights.
  • Ability to pick and move stock from 1 lb. to 50 lbs. multiple times.
  • Wear seatbelts at all times when operating the forklift.

Nice To Haves

  • Warehousing certifications a plus.
  • PC skills helpful.
  • Major experience on reach truck or stand-up forklift/EPJs

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently.
  • Handle all freight inbound or outbound properly and orderly.
  • Maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
  • Load and unload RJW truck/trailers and outside carriers safely using proper procedures.
  • Ensure all shipments are correctly staged, checked, and loaded properly.
  • Properly store stock in the warehouse.
  • Provide material handling services for warehouse shipping and receiving activities.
  • Use a forklift to pick customer orders and load on trailers based on warehouse operations sheets.
  • Maintain forklift safety at all times following all safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient operation of the warehouse.
  • Operate reach truck and/or Walkie Rider.
  • Process outbound cross-dock freight as necessary.
  • Oversee storing stock properly in the warehouse and moving product into storage racks.
  • Record and verify the accuracy of shipments against paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments/deliveries.
  • Ensure all documentation and paperwork is properly completed.
  • Complete daily forklift maintenance inspections.
  • Handle all customer products properly and orderly.
  • Check deliveries for poor packing, general condition of materials, and free of damage, alerting Warehouse Supervisor of any problems and taking pictures if necessary.
  • Report all accidents/incidents, employee injuries, damage of stock, or building damage to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
  • Spot trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment.
  • Maintain access to dock doors, keeping them free of debris or snow.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by manager.
