About The Position

Under general supervision, the Forklift Operator ensures the safe and accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of food products using material-handling equipment and radio frequency equipment. The role involves moving products throughout the facility, preparing orders for shipment, checking freight, and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment. The operator may also perform inventory, cleaning, forklift battery changes, and other duties as needed.

The position requires working in temperature-controlled areas ranging from 32°F to -45°F, as well as exposure to outdoor ambient conditions. Physical duties include standing or walking during shifts of 8, 10, or 12 hours, operating equipment, accessing elevated products, and, depending on the specific role, lifting and carrying boxes weighing up to 80 pounds.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Three months of related work experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to work overtime, evenings, or weekends when needed and to arrive on time for assigned shifts in accordance with attendance policies.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to meet the stated physical requirements, including working in cold and outdoor conditions, accessing heights, wearing required protective equipment, and standing or walking for extended shifts.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently load and unload freight and move products to storage throughout the facility.
• Stack and store merchandise; pick and assemble orders for shipment; check freight for accuracy, damage, and infestation; and label, sort, wrap, pack, or repack products as directed by management.
• Operate material-handling equipment and RF scanners in compliance with OSHA standards and in a manner that promotes safety.
• Meet production standards while maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
• Perform inventory, cleaning, forklift battery changes, and other duties as needed.
