Forklift Operator (2nd and 3rd Shifts) - La Mirada, CA
About The Position
Georgia-Pacific is hiring a safety-oriented Material Forklift Operator for its La Mirada, California facility. The role supports facility success by ensuring finished goods are delivered accurately and on time to meet customer needs. The starting rate is $24.67 per hour, plus shift differential. Available schedules are second shift, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and third shift, 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The operator safely handles and moves materials, completes shipping documentation, supports production and distribution planning, and helps maintain a safe and clean work environment. The job takes place in an industrial environment that may be hot, humid, cold, and noisy. Weekend, holiday, and overtime work may be needed. The role requires sitting for eight to ten hours per day and wearing required safety equipment. The position is with Georgia-Pacific, a Koch company and manufacturer of paper-based products and packaging. Applicants are asked to include a current resume. Requirements
- Two years of experience operating a forklift, clamp truck, or similar equipment.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to safety rules and regulations.
- Basic computer skills for completing shipping tasks.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience driving and operating a forklift in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience using a Radio Frequency (RF) scanner.
Responsibilities
- Safely drive and operate a forklift, obtaining and maintaining certification.
- Load and unload materials.
- Accurately complete required shipping documentation manually and using computer software.
- Determine resources available for production and distribution.
- Participate in setting team goals and managing job assignments.
- Perform general housekeeping to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Use basic computer skills to complete shipping tasks.
- Work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Sit for eight to ten hours per day.
- Follow safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
