About The Position

Curtis Lumber’s Forklift Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient handling, staging, and loading of building materials product for customer/contractor deliveries and pick up. This role is responsible for working effectively and efficiently to ensure operational efficiency while adhering to safety standards. Forklift Operators are impactful in our business to assist in providing a high level of satisfaction, to our contractor and customer base, by effectively and accurately picking, staging, and loading products for delivery to job sites and customers’ homes.

Requirements

Previous forklift experience
Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks
Comfortable operating forklifts and other machinery
Ability to accuracy pick and stage material
Effectively communication with team members and supervisors

Responsibilities

Material Gathering: Collect various building materials according to invoices or orders
Loading and Securing: Load materials onto delivery trucks and secure them properly
Staging: Organize and stage materials effectively for delivery
Quality Control: Select materials of appropriate quality and inspect for defects
Inventory Management: Maintain inventory levels, rotate stock, and notify relevant supervisors of out-of-stock items
Shrink Management: Utilize proper procedures to manage damaged or surplus materials
Receiving: Prepare for and unload incoming materials efficiently, reporting any variances
Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and ensure the safe use of equipment
Yard Maintenance: Keep the work area neat and clean
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of materials received, issued, and in stock
