About The Position

This role is responsible for carefully moving packages and material around our facilities. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and involves various working conditions including standing, walking, occasional lifting of more than 50 pounds, exposure to non-weather related wet/humid conditions, outside weather conditions, and continual loud noise. The shift is the second shift, from 3:00 pm to 12:00 am or until completion, Monday through Friday. The employee must be able to safely execute all job functions and comply with safety regulations.

Requirements

One to two years related experience or equivalent.
Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Commitment to excellence and high standards.
Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
Acute attention to detail.
Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently.

Nice To Haves

Forklift experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Safely unload materials and merchandise from incoming trailers and load them to assigned outbound trailers.
Perform required administrative tasks for inbound unloading and outbound loading.
Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
Inspect forklift to determine the need for repairs and note any defects on pre-shift inspection form.
Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
Help maintain a safe and orderly environment in the facilities.
Secure freight for transit.
Operate air compressor for airbag usage.
Ensure freight is counted and loaded in the right DC trailer.
Perform different tasks such as working floor freight and mixed freight while keeping a good count of the goods and paying attention to detail.
