FORKLIFT OPERATOR DISTRIBUTION CENTER
About The Position
Tandy Leather is hiring a Forklift Operator for its distribution center team. The role supports inbound and outbound operations by safely operating stand-up and sit-down forklifts, clamp trucks, reach trucks, and pallet jacks. Approximately 50% of the work involves forklift operation and 50% involves general warehouse tasks, so the associate must be comfortable moving between these types of work throughout the shift. The position includes receiving and putting away products, replenishing inventory, staging orders, and loading outbound trucks. It also involves checking product condition and labels, maintaining a clean workspace, reporting inventory or equipment issues, and performing other warehouse duties as assigned. The distribution center offers first-shift hours and a climate-controlled work environment, and is preparing to move to a new facility in Benbrook, Texas.
Requirements
- Valid forklift certification.
- Three years of lift operator experience.
- Ability to operate equipment safely at heights.
- Experience using WMS and handheld scanners.
- Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to lift 30–50 pounds and stand for more than eight hours.
- Reliable attendance and transportation.
- Willingness to perform non-forklift duties.

Responsibilities
- Unload inbound trailers using forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Inspect and verify incoming product quantities and condition.
- Label and scan inventory using handheld scanners.
- Transport pallets to designated put-away locations.
- Safely place goods in racking using reach or sit-down forklifts.
- Replenish inventory by moving goods from overstock bins to pick bins.
- Stage completed store orders.
- Load outbound trucks according to loading plans.
- Operate forklifts and other lift equipment in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Conduct daily forklift inspections.
- Navigate tight aisles and racking safely.
- Stack and maneuver pallets at varying heights.
- Follow equipment and safety protocols.
- Check products for damage or labeling issues and maintain a clean workspace.
- Report inventory discrepancies or equipment issues.
- Perform general warehouse duties outside forklift operation, including receiving, order fulfillment, and rolling leather.
