About The Position

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Forklift Operator for their 2nd shift. This role is responsible for ensuring inventory control through correct placement of product within the warehouse, maintaining safety of people and materials, and performing all functions in accordance with safety policies and procedures. The operator will be responsible for careful loading of product and quality crate building to assist with customer satisfaction. This position requires operating motorized equipment (forklift and multi-directional equipment) safely, efficiently, and accurately, staging product for shipment, setting up materials for crate-building, providing production with product storage racks and material, changing propane tanks, performing daily preventive maintenance and safety checks on equipment, and maintaining warehouse cleanliness. The role also involves training on paperwork and RF Scanners, inventory and cycle counts, attending daily staff meetings, performing basic forklift operator duties, and maintaining an accurate time card. Active participation in plant safety programs is also expected.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate/G.E.D.
  • Must have 3-5 years experience with propane fueled forklifts in manufacturing environment
  • Must apply training and coaching to be successful
  • Must be able to handle a high paced environment while keeping safety the #1 priority
  • Must have good eye/hand coordination, excellent manual dexterity including a skill to use hand and electrical tools, and an ability to read and comprehend numbers
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist and lift 87 to 100 lbs with assistance
  • Must be detailed oriented, possess good communication skills, and interact well with others
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Operate motorized equipment (forklift and multi-directional equipment) safely, efficiently, and accurately
  • Correctly Stage product in preparation for shipment
  • Set-up materials for crate-building when needed
  • Provide production with product storage racks and material
  • Change propane tanks on forklifts and report maintenance needs of motorized equipment
  • Perform daily preventive maintenance and safety checks on motorized equipment
  • Perform warehouse maintenance and warehouse housekeeping
  • Train on paperwork and RF Scanners
  • Train for inventory and cycle counts
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required
  • Attend daily staff meetings to discuss KPI's
  • Perform basic duties of of a forklift operator
  • Maintain an accurate time card daily
  • Actively participate in all plant safety programs, depending on location
