About The Position

The Forklift Operator is responsible for driving a forklift in a safe and efficient manner within the Raisin Receiving department. This role requires following instructions from supervisors and crew leaders, and understanding different varieties of fruit. The operator will be responsible for loading and unloading bins from trucks, staging bins, stacking bins, and maintaining the forklift's fluid levels. Additionally, the role involves minimizing damage to bins during movement, keeping necessary records, reporting any issues with the lift truck, and completing a daily forklift checklist. The position operates in various weather conditions and involves potential hazards such as falling objects or shifting bins, and airborne materials, necessitating the use of safety glasses.

Requirements

• Must know different varieties of fruit.
• Be a qualified forklift operator.
• Must successfully complete training / certification, and maintain certification.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload bins from trucks.
• Stage all bins with scale tag together.
• Stack bins four high and put in staging area.
• Properly check and maintain fluid levels of forklift.
• Move bins with the least amount of damage.
• Keep records as needed.
• Report any problems with lift truck to supervisor.
• Properly fill out Drivers Daily Forklift Checklist.
• Other duties as assigned.
