About The Position

The Forklift Operator works at the Sierra Distribution Center in Ashville, Ohio. The role involves moving merchandise with powered equipment, accurately scanning and matching merchandise to paperwork and labels, and keeping work areas safe and clean. The position has a starting pay range of $20.00 to $23.00 per hour, with actual pay determined by relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. Additional pay may be earned based on production level. Available schedules are Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (A shift) or Monday through Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. (C shift). The workspace is described as clean and climate-controlled. Forklift experience is preferred; stand-up forklift experience is a plus, and training will be provided. The operator must attend power equipment safety training and pass an eye exam and power equipment examination.

Requirements

Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to attend power equipment safety training and pass an eye exam and power equipment examination.
Ability to follow safe operating procedures and workplace methods.

Nice To Haves

Forklift operating experience is preferred.
Stand-up forklift operating experience is a plus; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Load and unload belts, elevators, lifts, pallets, and skids.
Accurately match paperwork and labels to merchandise.
Use a CV30 to accurately scan all moves.
Repalletize fallen merchandise when necessary.
Properly stack skids and pallets.
Maintain accountability for indirect time by completing an indirect log daily, and assist in other areas as needed.
Maintain a safe and clean work area.
Conduct required power equipment safety checks and complete checklists.
Follow safe and proper operating procedures on power equipment at all times.
Follow Best Practice Preferred Methods and Work Smart Principles.
Attend power equipment safety training and pass the required eye and power equipment examinations.
