About The Position

Palmer Logistics, now part of H. Essers, is seeking skilled Forklift Operators to join their warehouse team. This role involves receiving, shipping, and quality control of various customer products, including non-hazardous and hazardous materials, food grade, and other commodities. The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and proficient in operating different types of equipment in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the growth of Palmer Logistics and H. Essers. This position offers the opportunity to develop strong problem-solving skills and make a positive impact on U.S. warehouse operations.

Requirements

• Must have 2 -3 years of forklift experience in a logistics environment.
• Must have 2 -3 years in handling hazardous material.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, adjust the body to bend, push, pull, stretch, stoop, squat, and grab; walk and sit for extended periods.
• Detail-oriented and capable of performing basic math functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with stand-up and sit-down forklifts.
• Experience with reach truck and cherry picker operation.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, move, and stage product by operating various equipment such as sit-down forklift, reach truck, cherry picker.
• Pull and prepare product for shipping including but not limited to labeling, banding, stretch wrapping, block and brace.
• Verify shipments for accuracy, document and report any discrepancies.
• Utilize RF scanner.
• Follow established company policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with warehouse and office personnel to meet productivity goals.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform daily equipment inspections prior to operation.
• Perform other duties and not limited to just driving a forklift, you will label, band, stretch wrap, clean drums and totes, and restack bags and pails.
