This role is for a Forklift Operator at our Winchester, VA facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • At least 6 months prior experience operating a forklift.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime on short notice, including weekdays and weekends.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures based on season, around machinery, and heavy forklift traffic.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a PCA certified forklift license.

  • Experience operating a forklift in a production, assembly, pick/pack work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Operate wrapping equipment when necessary.
  • Maintain an orderly stock and materials area.
  • Unload and load goods/products on trucks.
  • Document materials unloaded and taken off trucks to the correct location.
  • Collaborate as a member of the Shipping Department to achieve optimal quality results.
  • Pull jobs for production, stage orders for shipment, manage inbound and outbound forms, and handle inventory tags and counts for received or shipped materials.
  • Assist all departments (shipping, production, and receiving) to balance workload, organize warehouses, and perform general cleaning.
  • Adhere to all rules and procedures for the safe and efficient operation of the forklift, including reporting any missing, broken, bent, or worn forklift parts to a supervisor and/or maintenance.
  • Drive backwards with a high load for proper visibility.
  • Be alert to any obvious defects in incoming material.
  • Set aside questionable units for further inspection.
  • Stack materials carefully in the warehouse to prevent product damage.
  • Adhere to all safety and work rules, company policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned, which may change with or without notice.
