About The Position

Trinidad Benham Corp, a leader in its industry with over 100 years of business, is seeking a Forklift Operator for its Packaging Operations department in La Vergne, TN. This full-time position is responsible for the efficient movement of materials throughout the facility and grounds using a forklift, supporting the Production Operation. The role requires operating both stand-up and sit-down forklifts, with a preference for sit-down experience. The company emphasizes stable employment and growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Forklift certification required.
  • Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of employees, individually or in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform more complex problems.
  • Effectively communicate questions, problems, and reports to co-workers, supervisory, and management personnel.
  • Flexibility to accommodate unscheduled changes in duties and work overtime as needed.
  • Must display a positive attitude and work well with all levels of personnel.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two (2) years or more of related experience in a manufacturing preferred.
  • Sit down forklift experience preferred.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operates gas or electric forklifts (sit down and stand up) in the warehouse.
  • Operates forklift and other powered equipment when required, potentially performing complex, heavy, or oversized transports.
  • Performs daily machine inspections adhering to safety procedures.
  • Reads and understands Bills of Lading and Pick Sheets.
  • Moves product to work areas according to production schedule and daily pick-up sheet.
  • Stacks product in storage areas, loads and unloads shipments to and from trailers.
  • Uploads full and partial pallets, wraps pallets when necessary, stages product for loading, and checks pallets for accuracy.
  • Maintains clean and organized aisles or rack storage, consolidates partial pallets.
  • Labels, sorts, wraps, and ties inventory products.
  • Loads product into containers by hand.
  • Completes required paperwork per company standards.
  • Communicates with management and maintenance personnel regarding maintenance and repairs.
  • Complies with company safety policies and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures, including documentation.
  • Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Performs tasks with little or no supervision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
