About The Position

Martin Sprocket & Gear is seeking skilled Forklift Operators to join their team. The role involves transporting raw materials, moving products through the production process, loading and unloading goods, and managing waste disposal. The operator will also monitor inventory levels, perform clerical tasks, maintain a clean and safe work area, and adhere to safety protocols. Collaboration with other departments and adaptability to a non-climate-controlled environment are also key aspects of the position.

Requirements

Previous experience operating sit-down, propane, and electric forklifts.
Proficient in maneuvering forklifts and pallet jacks in tight or narrow spaces.
Basic math skills.
Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written instructions in English.
Capable of completing logs and reports accurately.
Capable of lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning heavy products.
Experience with safety programs and adherence to safety protocols.
Able to work scheduled hours and adhere to company timekeeping and policies.
Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.

Responsibilities

Transport raw materials to and from work centers using a forklift or electric pallet jack.
Move products to the next step in the production process.
Pick products from warehouse shelves and floor locations.
Load products onto motor freight.
Transport finished goods to storage or shipping areas.
Remove waste materials and dispose of them in designated dumpsters.
Monitor inventory levels to meet manufacturing demands.
Coordinate production work orders.
Perform general clerical tasks and other duties as needed.
Keep equipment and work area clean and safe, ensuring proper maintenance.
Adhere to safety protocols, including wearing required PPE throughout the shift.
Participate in safety programs.
Collaborate with other departments or assist in different areas as needed to support overall operations.
