About The Position

Forklift Operators are responsible for ensuring all materials are transported and/or unloaded in a timely manner while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Applicants will be considered for openings in any department that may include but are not limited to Warehouse or Shipping and Receiving. Candidates must accept work in a cold and damp environment with temperatures ranging from -10 to 34 degrees. Jobs are fast paced and require repetitive motion. Some positions require lifting, pushing and pulling up to 40+ lbs. Material Handling and Receiving positions require lifting 70+ lbs. Constant standing, walking, and riding of powered material handling equipment (forklifts, stand up lifts) is required. Must be able and willing to stand throughout 10–12-hour shifts. Specialized training for powered industrial trucks is required to be qualified within Tyson Foods, Inc. Other duties may be assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

  • 12 months Stand up Forklift operator experience in the last 3 years.
  • Must be able to meet minimum productivity percentage.
  • Must be able to continuously pick up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be willing to train for and pass forklift license training.
  • Must be willing to read and understand to operate RF equipment.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and weekends.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Cold storage experience preferred.

  • Complete on-the-job paperwork.
  • Effectively communicate across all management levels.
  • Accept and carry through on requests and directions given.
  • Learn other duties as assigned.
