About The Position

The Forklift Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials within a warehouse or distribution center. This position is responsible for operating various types of forklifts and material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport goods accurately and promptly. The operator will contribute to maintaining inventory accuracy by assisting with order picking and using RF scanners to track shipments. Safety and compliance with operational procedures are paramount to prevent accidents and damage to products or equipment. Ultimately, the Forklift Operator supports the overall supply chain process by facilitating smooth warehouse operations and timely order fulfillment.

Requirements

• Valid forklift operator certification or license.
• Proven experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely.
• Basic understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management.
• Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and RF scanner data.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
• Forklift operation, electric pallet jack handling, and order picking.
• Proficiency with RF scanners.
• Operating different types of forklifts, including stand-up and clamp trucks.
• General warehouse skills such as stacking and organizing inventory.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, stand-up forklifts, and clamp trucks to move materials within the warehouse.
• Load and unload goods from trucks and storage areas safely and efficiently.
• Use RF scanners to accurately pick orders and update inventory records.
• Inspect equipment before use to ensure it is in safe working condition and report any maintenance needs.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
• Follow all safety protocols and company policies to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Assist with general warehouse duties such as stacking, palletizing, and inventory management.
