About The Position

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Works with the transfer process with regard to unloading and loading trailers, put away, scanning, layout compliance, wrapping, stacking, collecting damaged product, labeling, and other related activities as they pertain to finished and unfinished inventory. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITY: Assist in performing the shipping and receiving operation in a consistent manner as instructed in the training program. Responsible to maintain the procedures concerning operation unless the training program is changed, and properly recorded concerning procedure. Load and unload all trailers, seeing that they are first properly locked and chocked. Verify all pallets for labeling and count issues, any receiving discrepancies found should be fixed or held for the Warehouse Supervisor. Restack pallets that have fallen in the warehouse and in the transfer process. Operate material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Report any mechanical problems with your equipment or any safety hazards relating to the performance of your duties. Follow all instructions that are issued and notify the Warehouse Supervisor if you have any problems that would result in lost production time. Unload all deliveries or shipments from outside vendors. Inspect quality, quantity, and condition of all shipments, and record on paperwork. Adjust to and follow new procedures and innovations, which would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation. Perform daily forklift checklist and routine maintenance on equipment including cleaning equipment. Maintain order in the warehouse storage areas in the performance of your duties. Allow only one partial pallet per item and store all like items in the same aisle or adjoining aisles. Be a Certified Forklift operator, and carry a copy of your certification with you.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to utilize software
  • Ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc.
  • Ability to write legibly in English
  • Ability to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide both fractions and decimals
  • Ability to solve equations
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Understanding of both standard and metric measuring systems
  • Must become a Certified powered industrial equipment operator in accordance with SCT training
  • Carry a copy of your certification with you
  • Regular attendance and reporting for work on time
  • Availability for overtime work if necessary
