About The Position

This position is responsible for operating a forklift safely and effectively, loading and unloading materials, and maintaining inventory accuracy. The role requires adherence to all safety protocols and may involve working in various environmental conditions. The operator will also be responsible for performing other duties as directed by their supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 1 – 2 years’ experience operating forklift equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English.
  • Ability to write effective correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Effectively represent the company professionally to customers, clients, suppliers, truck drivers and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and multiply and divide.
  • Ability to use units of US dollars, weight measurement, volume and distance.
  • Ability to use micrometers and dial calipers.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems in standardized situations.
  • Must be able to work all scheduled overtime and emergencies.
  • Flexibility to work various shift hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior shipping and receiving experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain a Multimatic forklift license and complete crane training, operating each safely and effectively.
  • Drive, load, and unload materials, components, and equipment in confined spaces.
  • Safely stack and unstack containers/racks.
  • Utilize time effectively and follow standardized routes as instructed.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements and protocols.
  • Report immediately any accidents, near misses, collisions, inventory discrepancies, or damaged racking & containers.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by the supervisor or designee.
