Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a 2nd Shift Forklift Operator/Material Handler to join their team. This role is crucial for ensuring proper product delivery to customers, maintaining accurate inventory levels, and operating industrial trucks like forklifts safely. Requirements

  • HS diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level sufficient to safely and effectively perform job duties, including following work instructions, safety procedures, and company communications.
  • One month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Has high standards of performance for self.

  • Previous Hilo driving experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Observes and complies with all safety, environmental, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
  • Participates in needs analysis and attends scheduled training and educational programs.
  • Participates in independent objective auditing activities and supports continuous improvement.
  • Stops work on processes as appropriate and contains suspect or defective material.
  • Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control lifting apparatus.
  • Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials.
  • Hooks tow trucks to trailer hitch and transports load to designated area.
  • Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
  • Inventories materials on work floor and supplies workers with materials as needed.
  • Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.
  • Loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device.
  • Recharges batteries or replaces liquefied gas tank.
