About The Position

O’Reilly Auto Parts is seeking a Forklift Operator to join their team. This role is responsible for operating fork trucks safely and efficiently to unload trucks and move freight within the Distribution Center (DC). The position involves moving incoming merchandise, stocking rack merchandise, managing surplus inventory, and replenishing outbound totes. Team members may also assist with maintaining mezzanine zones and identifying/addressing unsafe practices. Experienced team members may be designated as trainers, responsible for ensuring training is conducted on schedule and documentation is complete. This role also involves explaining job duties to new team members and conveying procedural changes to existing ones. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Operating knowledge of fork trucks and power equipment

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Experience operating various types of power equipment
  • Advanced knowledge of parts lines in warehouse and surplus merchandise locations
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)

Responsibilities

  • Moving incoming merchandise from truck to dock, and dock to correct stocking areas.
  • Stocking all rack merchandise and arranging rack surplus from zones in the appropriate manner.
  • Setting down rack surplus for zones so orders can be filled and replenishments can be made to stocking locations.
  • Performing miscellaneous tasks that require a fork truck.
  • Replenishing outbound totes as needed, where applicable.
  • Assisting with maintaining mezzanine zones.
  • Maintaining safety standards while operating and identifying unsafe practices and situations.
  • As a trainer, taking ownership of the DC target training program ensuring that all training is conducted according to schedule, and that all documentation is complete.
  • Explaining specific job duties and functions to help ensure success of new team members, as well as to convey any departmental or procedural changes to existing team members.
