About The Position

The Forklift Operator II operates material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise in a warehouse. The role requires safe and efficient operation of multiple types of forklift equipment and may include order-filler or order-checker duties as needed. The operator maintains productivity and accuracy while following safety procedures. Employees must spend at least 50% of their work time operating forklifts as part of their core duties.

Requirements

Must qualify for and pass NFI forklift certification.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective customer service skills.
Basic math competencies.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Preferred 2+ years of forklift operation experience and/or experience using warehouse distribution equipment.

Responsibilities

Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently, following established work practices and safety procedures.
Follow equipment safety protocols.
Complete and document required pre-operation equipment inspection forms.
Stack and store merchandise in designated rack locations.
Safely unload inbound shipments and transport products to assigned storage locations.
Pull, stage, and prepare products for outbound shipment.
Verify the correct quantity and product type are loaded and shipped.
Perform accurate, timely order picking with a customer-service focus.
Move products from staging or storage areas into trailers for outbound loads.
Maintain documentation and reports supporting inventory accuracy and product security.
Assist with physical inventory and periodic cycle counts as directed.
Rotate inventory according to company standards.
Identify and report inventory discrepancies to the inventory control team and participate in resolving them.
Use RF scanning devices to support accurate inventory management.
Promptly report safety concerns, hazards, or incidents to management.
Use basic Excel skills and general computer proficiency to complete required tasks.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the role and determined by management.
